As you may already know, there has been some news reports about the millions of dollars donated to the Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility group. These donations come from a few rich people such as Bill Gates, Michael Bloomberg, and Nick Hanauer.
The Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility website lists their top five contributers at the bottom of their website. These contributers being Nicolas Hanauer, Melinda Gates, William Gates III, Paul Allen, and Connier Ballmer.
This has prompted Alan Gottlieb to issue a challenge to the top donors to a debate on the issue as is indicated in this article from the Examiner:
September 2, 2014
After days of waiting with no reply from billionaire Bill Gates in his challenge to debate the merits, or lack thereof, of Initiative 594, gun rights advocate Alan Gottlieb today upped the ante, offering to face both Gates and anti-gun former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, another billionaire backing the initiative.
Many news articles don’t always make it clear where the information they got came from. Such as the million dollar donations from Bloomberg and Gates. The information on these donations can actually be found on Washington state’s public disclosure website at www.pdc.wa.gov.
